Jan Mir ist gebürtiger Berliner. Obwohl er in der Hauptstadt der elektronischen Musik aufwuchs, war die gerade Bassdrum in den ersten beiden Dekaden seines Lebens ein absolutes Nogo für ihn. Er erforschte vielmehr, je nach Lebensphase, alle möglichen Musikstile, angefangen von Klassik über Pop, Rock, Punk, HipHop und Jazz, bis er über experimentelle Musikformen zur Elektronik fand. Als er Ende der Neunziger Konzertkarten für ein Underworld-Konzert gewann, verstand er zum ersten Mal das Potential, das elektronische Tanzmusik birgt: Das kompromisslose Abzielen auf Emotionen sämtlicher Facetten. Folgerichtig begann er sich intensiv mit der Musik zu beschäftigen und erkundete die Berliner Clublandschaft. Die Faszination wurde zur Sucht und eigene Plattenspieler waren die logische Folge. Im ZMF fand er seine erste musikalische Heimat und ist Club und Veranstaltern bis heute eng verbunden. Vom Glück geküsst durfte er in den darauf folgenden Jahren in fast allen Clubs der Stadt auflegen und machte sich auch über Berlin hinaus einen Namen.

Zusammen mit seinem Freund und Kollegen Tomas Svensson feiert Jan Mir 2010 seine ersten Releases auf Labels wie „Tonkind“, „Aromamusic“ oder seinem eigenen neu gegründeten Label „Claqueur Records“. Als studierter Psychologe sind seine Sets und Produktionen geprägt von Emotionalität und Vielseitigkeit. Seine Abneigung gegen Monotonie und die Liebe zu verschiedenen Musikstilen stehen klar im Vordergrund. Brüche und Überraschungen sind kein Tabu in seinen Sets. Ein glücklich lachendes und endlos tanzendes Publikum dankt es ihm.

Jan Mir was born and raised in Berlin. Even though he grew up in the capital of electronic music for the first two decades of Jan’s life the straight bass drums was not in the picture. He began with exploring other music styles such as classical, pop, rock, punk rock, hip hop and jazz, until he discovered electronic music through other styles of experimental music. During the late nineties Jan won free tickets for an Underworld concert and that was the time when he started to grasp the potential that is inherent in electronic dance music: The uncompromising aim at emotions of all facets. Consequently he started to intensify his interest for this music style and started to dive into the club scene of Berlin. This fascination evolved into an addiction and his own turntables followed soon. Jan’s first musical home was the ZMF and to this day there is a close bond between him and the club’s promoters. Jan was lucky enough to spin in most of the city’s clubs and managed to make a name for himself across Berlin’s borders.
In 2010 he and his friend and colleague Tomas Svensson release their first tracks on labels like “Tonkind”, “, „Aromamusic“ or his own new label “Claqueur Records”. Being a psychologist by profession, Jan’s sets and productions are characterized by emotions and versatility. His dislike for monotonous music and his love for various music styles clearly influence his style. Breaks and surprises are not a taboo in Jan’s sets. Appreciation for Jan’s music is evident by a happy and dancing crowd.
