It’s been a little more than fifteen years since Holger Zilske and Kai Preussner, the core members of Berlin’s dynamic tech duo Smash TV, first appeared on the scene to establish their conjunctional moniker.

Catering DJ’s and dancefloors with a hefty stream of 12“ singles, two critically acclaimed albums and numerous remixes released via BPitch Control between 2001 and 2008, Smash TV quickly carved out a unique sonic niche of their own. What followed was a constant process of touring the globe, collecting air miles and keeping customs busy whilst evolving into a complex, non-laptop based live act as well as into a sought after DJ tag team.

Focusing on a straighter sound garnished with a special Smash TV twist the pairing became part of the Get Physical-family with the release of two massive 12“es in 2011 / 2012, followed up by the highly acclaimed longplay effort „Noise & Girls“ which had a huge impact in clubland for a reason.

Since then, Smash TV have put out a string of releases on acclaimed imprints like Get Physical Music, Culprit, Sytematic, Pokerflat, Hive Audio, My Favorite Robot, Katermukke and Little Helpers, representing their hometown Berlin and their genre-bending vision of electronic club music.

And no matter what kind of sound or sonic development falls into this category for now or in the projects most likely glorious future, one thing is to be taken for granted – no matter if they are playing out as live act or DJ team, Smash TV will keep smashing until the very end.
